Well here is a list of books dat I hav read n liked…..
1.Blink- a buk based on da intuitions dat v hav & on a variety of on-the-spot- decisions dat v mak in everyday life……. An insightful buk dat I cud really relate to.
2.The diary of Anne Frank- I lik this buk 4 1 simple reason……it shows us how trivial wars are ven compared to the loss & overall degradation of human population .
3.The Alchemist – After reading this buk I felt a complete paradigm shift on a lot of things goin on around me….it truly is a magical fable.
4.Maximum city- It’s a book that iv read recently but it’s a real good book. Its one of those books that you just cant put down until u have finished it.This is the only book prolly in which I have not skipped a single page, para or line.An absolute must read.
5.Da Vinci Code-This is prolly the most controversial of its times….but the mystery is just too good.
6.The Harry Potter series- A complete time pass …read it when u hav no work to do n n u are in a mood to contemplate what it would be lik tobe in Hogwarts urslf…..
7. Jonathan Livingston Seagull-A book about da life of a seagull ….basically a story based on self perfection n sacrifice.
8.Chicken Soup For The Soul series – True life stories…..(ne more elaborations????)
9.Chronicles of Narnia – I really liked this book a lot. A very well written book.
10. Sherlock holmes- My all time favourite book for mystery and adventure… a worth while read.
11. Inscrutable Americans – I liked the sense of humour portrayed in the book….. got a little boring in the middle ..but othr wise a nice book.
12. The kite runner- I absolutely loved this book……a very touching story. Very well written book.
13. The curious incidents of a dog in the night time- I really liked the portrayal of the central character in this buk…it cud have had a better ending but was a good buk all the same.
14 The Monk who sold his Ferrari-A very philosophical book….meant for serious , heavy reading. Make sure ur in this frame of mind before reading the buk coz othr wise ul prolly chuck d abuk away after reading 10 pages of it.
15.Angels and Demons- Another mystery….gets a little borng in the middle…sounds like a poor bollywood flick at sum points…but otherwise a gud read.

IF U WERE HERE.....

Oh Calcutta!

Well I went 2 cal twice dis summer n d summary of it is as follows:

Never go frm bbay 2 cal in a train coz d journey itslf takes 23 hours n den on d way if d driver has dozed off 2 many times u come 2 kno dat d train is as much as 13 hrs late :D

D minute u enter cal d frst thng dat hits u is d HUGE ratio of taxis 2 cars. For every private car on d road der r 10 taxis or so

Then there r these funny circus type buses that I later learnt ver used public transport buses. :O

Then der is a sweet shop at every nook n corner … it seems lik every family has 1 of der own. I tried askng my dad if v hav 1…unfortunately v dont. :(

Ok….bengalis live 2 eat n dey don’t care if ppl around d world don’t share d same thots on food comsumption.
Eating fish is considered 2 b d “holiest” thing a person cud do.It is cooked as frequently as dal is cooked at ur house. N btw fish isn’t non-veg it just isn’t veg……:D

D traffic police do a brilliant job… dey jst stand at d centre of d road n luk at d traffic passin… ppl find der own way thru traffic….der is nutin known as a one way… if ur car has cum onto a road it shall go thru whether its supposd 2 o not…. so much 4 traffic rules…:D

Ven u go 2 a marriage it dosent matter whether the marriage has startd or no ul always find d dining room filled vit ppl filling der stomach…


My Bengali is d butt of all jokes der… n grammatical mistakes dat I nvr knew of cum into existence once I reach dat city….n yeah d pace at which those ppl speak is really fast… aftr speaking bong 4 19 years I still find it hard 2 decipher wat those ppl say….
So god help u if u dnt kno bong n enter dta city.

Every1 ovr der is really proud of der culture n all so if u happen 2 cum across a bong think twice b4 u say nethng dat u shall later regret.

D logic behind givin funny nicknames has never been clearly explained 2 me. U will find endless “gabblu’s” ,”babblu’s”, “chondu’s” et al. I mean how vud u feel if ur wife calls u by these names???

Please sing in public places only if u kno dat u sing well else jst listen 2 d rest der coz ul always hav sum1 who sings bttr dan u… same goes 4 dancing

All in all its an enjoible trip if u go at ne tim of d year odr dan summer…. N if ur a foodie n a person of deep interest in art n literature……but Bombay still rocks!!!
